I would prefer Tolkien wasn't an IP to be mined but if they are gonna insist on making more I don't see how the hunt for Gollum makes for a theatrical release. Maybe an episode in a Adventures of Aragorn series but a movie? Nah. The War in the North maybe, or the Witch King vs Arnor or something bigger. I have zero faith in this....it would be nice to be surprised but I doubt it. I think I'd rather them do an official single movie cut of the horrible Hobbit movies. Try to salvage that.

Now this is how you bleed an IP to death
I hope I’m wrong but this looks even worse than the first season.

I’m horrified

There’s no way they won’t fuck this up.
They’re putting Tom bombadil in that rings of power series.

There’s a pic in the article. Already looks totally wrong

I heard a wild rumor a few months back that Tom was going to turn out to be Morgoth in ROP. Just dumb enough to be true lol.

I'm kinda disappointed in the Rohirrim movie art style. The initial concept art was super Frank Frazetta but they ended up going anime. The anime style doesn't look bad by any means just thought the other style fit better. I'll give it a chance.

Ok none of us liked the first season. But this looks way way more like the stuff we wanted.
Trailer for season two. Ents. Balrogs. Bombadil. Sauron. Bring it.

I see the characters. I recognize their names. None of them act the way they are supposed too. Nothing in that trailer happened that way. It gives me a headache.

i've kind of made peace with the fact that theyre using the events and characters involved in the lore, as only the vaguest backdrop to what they're doing.

it makes it all a little more bearable.

Other than the conversations between those halfling girls and that wizard, everything else is so fucking bland. I get it you want to sound like Tolkien wrote, but enough with the long pauses and "it doesn't take an eagles jizz shot to tell your mind is coming from elsewhere" or whatever the fuck
