I saw them on Valentine's day on the Ah With Uh Teeth Ah tour. A guy jerked off in his seat behind me and my girlfriend. I forget which song this occurred during.

When they played You Know What You Are? the guitar player would scream the chorus into his mic and knock it to the ground, then a stage guy would run out and set it back up. Then repeat. It was pretty funny.

Little did you know, that gig would set the tone for your posting career.

I bought Year Zero on cd and never listened to it. It still the original color. I might listen to it just to change the color.

Year Zero had a handful of good songs and some fun ideas scattered around but there were some kinda embarrassing attempts at pop ("I pushed a button and elected him to office and uh! / He pushed a button and it dropped a bomb")

I don't know, I feel like this was Trent's "I got old" album; his political messages are really on the nose across the album (basically the world is going down in an apocalyptic mushroom cloud -- true but not the most original thinking), and the pop side of the album feels kinda dated to me

I think all of the above was done with more subtlety, wit and style in "Hesitation Marks"; even the title is nuanced and subtle before it's shocking, instead of the B-grade horror movie title of "Year Zero"

"Everything" is a great pop song that feels more timeless to me, and I enjoy the irony of its presence on an album whose title alludes to a suicide attempt; it's a semi-colon tattoo instead of a hesitation mark, and that's clever

There's a lot to love about that album, but parts of it are so easy to make fun of.

Was listening to the Natural Born Killers soundtrack today. Trent produced it and of course has some NIN songs. Good stuff

Yeah that soundtrack rules. I acquired it purely by chance years ago when I bought a Pumpkins CD from some dude and shipping took longer than anticipated, so he threw it in for free. I was pleasantly surprised!
