My oldest is starting to get into professional soccer. How do Americans select a European team to follow? Draw a name from a hat? What league is easiest to follow?

English Premier and Spanish leagues get the most coverage here, so that seems to be the easiest way. I follow two shitty teams, one in EPL and one in Italy, because I got to see games in their home stadiums. I didn't really know they were shitty at the time.

Don't support Tottenham unless you get off on disappointment

Palace have been great this past month. Best ever. Now we/they need to build on that, and get a proper top half season in 24/25. Let’s see how it goes.
Winning against that Man Utd team yesterday was no surprise. Even our bench was much stronger than theirs.

I've largely lost interest in soccer due to the influx of oil money, but I will be hoping for a miracle tomorrow - I'd love to see City denied another league title.

It's theirs to lose, for sure.

Welp, another title for oil money fc. They may as well not bother playing next year, just sell the title to the highest bidder.

It's gotten to the point where I can't wait for Pep to leave City so the levels are a bit more even.
Spurs, Villa and Palace look set for amazing seasons next year if they get backing and don't lose too many players. Arsenal are already sniffing around Ollie Watkins.

France vs Portugal final with Portugal winning.
That is my prediction.
Tonight Germany 2-1.

Fun day of matches. So crazy that Ericksen died on the pitch 3 years ago and scored today. I teared up during the pre-game coverage reliving that scene. That image of him face down and eyes open is haunting.
The Dutch must be worried. England is a nonfactor.
