I love Jim.
Gastr Del Sol is unique and weird.

I'm listening to Peter Gabriel and I don't get it. There's so many songs where I'm just thinking, "it's alright but nothing I'd put on on purpose."

Excepting Sledgehammer and In Your Eyes, of course.

Try the piano version of "Here Comes the Flood," from his Greatest Hits CD.

Speaking of top 15 albums of the decade (restricting myself to one per artist)...

1. Kanye West - Yeezus (Abrasive, industrial, tormented, introspective hip-hop.)
Spoiler: show
2. Daughters - Daughters (Loud, chaotic noise rock with huge-sounding production. The singer describes his vocals as "Elvis being tortured.")
Spoiler: show
3. The Drones - I See Seaweed (Poetic, sardonic, weary rock with a Nick Cave-esque Aussie edge. Gareth Liddiard is one of my favorite lyricists.)
Spoiler: show
4. Dax Riggs - Say Goodnight to the World (Bluesy, swampy, nocturnal rock from Louisiana. Dax Riggs has one of the most beautiful voices in the world.)
Spoiler: show
5. Kitty - Frostbite (Dreamy, ethereal pop with Kitty spilling her millennial soul through hushed, breathy vocals.)
Spoiler: show
6. Septicflesh - The Great Mass (Epic, symphonic death metal with powerful vocals, striking composition, and incredible orchestration.)
Spoiler: show
7. Beastmilk - Climax (A specific strain of post-punk called "Deathrock." But, basically, super catchy and melodic rock brimming with macabre romanticism.)
Spoiler: show
8. Mike Patton - Mondo cane (Lushly orchestrated classic Italian pop songs with Mike Patton crooning his brains out.)
Spoiler: show
9. Protomartyr - The Agent Intellect (Sly, snarling, melancholic post-punk with big melodies and killer hooks.)
Spoiler: show
10. The Dillinger Escape Plan - One of Us is the Killer (Intense, aggressive "Mathcore" (basically, ultra complex/technical/fast hardcore/metalcore) with diverse, passionate vocals and fantastic songwriting.)
Spoiler: show
11. Yung Lean - Warlord (Trippy, druggy, nihilistic hip-hop from one of the originators of Vaporwave.)
Spoiler: show
12. Kendrick Lamar - DAMN. (I don't think I need to say anything.)
13. Jazz Cartier - Marauding in Paradise (Just...sad. So, so sad. It's manic, paranoid hip-hop...that is just crushingly sad.)
Spoiler: show
14. Die Antwoord - TEN$ION (Crazy, inventive, infectious rave rap album that contains, IMO, some of the most memorable pop songs of the new millennium.)
Spoiler: show
15. Melvins - The Bride Screamed Murder (Wildly creative sludge metal full of avant-garde touches, such as military call-and-response and reimagined traditional folk.)
Spoiler: show

I know a couple of labels. They mostly just churn out particular genres I like, but I can contribute.

I never really pay attention to labels. Having a thread dedicated to the topic might help me learn more about them.
