seriously, how could he leave that part out?@SkitchP wrote:Is Chopper in this.Anders wrote:No real spoilers, but I saw the movie earlier today.
Below are some thoughts about it:
Really enjoyed it. It felt a little less grandiose than the original trilogy movies (and main episodes in general), more compact and revolved around a single story. Still it could easily be called episode 3.5. It was predictable, but mostly in a good way. There was a fun character (the robot), but he didn't go Jar Jar on us. More like a cooler macho combat brother of C3PO.
On first viewing everything made sense, and they didn't just do the same old story over again. There were several typical Star Wars plot developments, but never cringeworthy. Received a solid applause at the end.
Nowhere near as epic and great as Empire Strikes Back , but a really solid action Star Wars movie.

The only droid that got serious screen time was K-2S0. There were others of course, but nothing that caught my attention.

I googled his picture before I answered. Didn't know who he was until @SkitchP asked. Is he in Rebels? I've only seen two episodes. Have seen all of Clone Wars though.E.H. Short review. It's a tedious mess.
But the end section makes it totally worth it.

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
I love episode 7 (best set of characters in any of the films), and would rank it next to A New Hope and Empire (each excels at something different). All star wars movies are imperfect, so I'm hoping I can rank this just as high for its own reasons.

It might in time reveal itself to be great like empire did. Nobody walked out of empire saying it was the best of them all.
As it stands I prefer force awakens.
The end section of this though. Just fuckin wow.

Imperfect is being very kind towards Episode 7. It has some really tedious scenes, others that are just illogical and the main plot is stolen straight from A New Hope. Not even close to A New Hope and Empire in quality.stip wrote:I love episode 7 (best set of characters in any of the films), and would rank it next to A New Hope and Empire (each excels at something different). Episodes 3 and 6 are solid efforts, but imperfect, episodes 1 and 2 are fun but deeply flawed.

Have to disagree. R1 was exactly what I thought it would be. A good war movie. Not a great Star Wars movie. It's saved by the ending and the only character you feel drawn to is the droid. No development or engaging characters.
And you can totally see that this was reshot and further, the trauma it had in editing. You can see they made the best they could of it. But still. It doesn't rank top 5 for me.

R1 was solid. Really good. My negative comments were towards Episode 7.dimejinky99 wrote:Anders wrote:Imperfect is being very kind. Do it as soon as you can.
I left the cinema about an hour ago and ran home. Put this straight in. It's perfect how they've done it.

I think I'll R1 more than TFA and ROTJ, but less than Empire and ANH.
