Really enjoyed it. It felt a little less grandiose than the original trilogy movies (and main episodes in general), more compact and revolved around a single story. More like a cooler macho combat brother of C3PO.

On first viewing everything made sense, and they didn't just do the same old story over again. There were several typical Star Wars plot developments, but never cringeworthy. Received a solid applause at the end.

Nowhere near as epic and great as Empire Strikes Back , but a really solid action Star Wars movie.

Is Chopper in this.

Short review. It's a tedious mess.

But the end section makes it totally worth it.

Imperfect is being very kind. It has some really tedious scenes, others that are just illogical and the main plot is stolen straight from A New Hope. Not even close to A New Hope and Empire in quality.

Episodes 3 and 6 are solid efforts, but imperfect, episodes 1 and 2 are fun but deeply flawed.

Have to disagree. R1 was exactly what I thought it would be. A good war movie. Not a great Star Wars movie. It's saved by the ending and the only character you feel drawn to is the droid. No development or engaging characters.

And you can totally see that this was reshot and further, the trauma it had in editing. You can see they made the best they could of it. But still. It doesn't rank top 5 for me.
