Not sure. I've had Utopias before, it's like a super strong barleywine that I remember being delicious. It's been a long time since I've had it though.

So do certain beer get better with age? which ones? I've always been under the impression beer and ale was best fresh.

That looks like my fridge when I was 25 except I had a very impressive collection of Bud Light, Rolling Rock, and Coors Light.

And it probably only lasted about 2-3 weeks then I refilled.

It completely depends on the style of beer. Many Stouts, porters, barleywines, and some ales age incredibly well. Other beers like IPAs, Pilsners, etc. are made to be consumed as fresh as possible.

I'm not sure I can narrow it down like that. I love so many beers for different reasons.

Olaf the Stout from a brewery called HammerHeart is definitely one of my favorites. Barrel Aged Darkness from Surly is another one right up there. BA Old Rasputin is phenomenal. Hugely flavorful Stouts and porters are my favorite. Barrel aging just improves an already great thing. I am super lucky to have some amazing breweries in the Twin Cities area and I definitely drink more local beer than anything else.

We went to All Pints North beer festival in Duluth last year, you do have many awesome breweries! It was overwhelming.

Not speaking for him, because he is way more experienced than I am at it, but yeah I've had a few go bad, or just not be as good aged. One sip and pour it out.

Not yet, but there are a couple that I currently have that I'm curious about. And there have been some others that I preferred with less aging. But I have yet to kill a beer and dump it.
