I don't remember American Hustle very well. Been a long time since I've seen it. But from my vague memory it feels needlessly over-complicated and silly. Maybe I need to rewatch it.

Loved this in the cinema ten years ago, so this will be interesting.
This movie is wonderful. Very underrated.
I rewatched it a couple of months ago. Yeah, a lot of great moments in this movie, a lot about it to enjoy. Fun how we got that and Wolf of Wall Street, two very excessive and thematically linked movies, in the same year
Good point.

Is it possible that Jennifer Lawrence kinda sucks? I mean, she's trying her best, but...

With American Hustle I don’t remember a lot of specific details, but I recall not being totally enamored. I’d like to watch it again.

She tries so hard. I think she was pretty good in Winter's Bone and then her ego got the best of her.

Anyone who hasn't seen I Heart Huckabees needs to drop what they're doing and watch it right now.

It's not for everyone, though. But if it's for you you're going to be wondering where it's been your whole life.

I loved it in my college to mid 20’s days, probably saw it 4-5 times. But not sure how I’d take it now

I’m less quirky and existential these days though. Not that the latter should necessarily change my viewing perspective.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

It is the perfect movie to watch in your early 20s when you're going through an existential crisis.

The movie has no philosophical answers. There are none. Life is chaos, painful and meaningless. You create the meaning you need out of it. Love someone if you dare, find the comfort and drama in it, there is no ultimate truth in it either. Appreciate beauty. If you search too hard you just isolate yourself and/or make yourself crazy.

Something tells me at least this won't be the same style of movie as the Oceans.. so I'm going to give it a chance
So far I admire his restraint. But the story is kinda lame.
This is a stupid movie and Jude Law is a mistake
