Another good movie. Not spectacular in acting or cinematography, but a really solid story.

Prisoners

Final 2013 movie. Really enjoyed this the first time I saw it, been looking forward to a second time. Even saved it for last in this 2013-run.

Was gonna watch Aftersun but it looked like a bunch of boring weepy bullshit, so I'm watching The New Barbarians instead. Italians in dune buggies trying to kill each other in post apocalyptic 2019 for the win.

Had a great time with Bodies Bodies Bodies. I thought it was going to actually attempt to be a horror movie but it's a straight-up comedy with some clever satire. Laughed multiple times. And the punchline is really well executed. Pete Davidson is truly perfect for a role like this, an utterly unlikeable skeeze

Finally saw Avatar 2. Thrilling in 3d, but more of a tech showcase than a story. almost like it’s the bridge between how movies were made and how they will be made next.

Watched Nausicaä for the first time in years. Amazing that this perfect movie is only like my third favorite Miyazaki.

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

First 2014 movie.

It’s certainly a rewatch, but at least I’ve only seen the extended edition in recent years. This is the cinema version.

Not a great movie by any stretch, but it does have a lot of flair and dramatics, and I’m generally partial to sff movies.

I still wish they had made The Hobbit into no more than two movies, and added less characters that weren’t in the book.
