Cop Land. sly has big gosling energy in this performance. the number of cast members who would go on to work on Sopranos is staggering

I watched this for the first time recently and liked it a lot. I remember it being a big flop when it came out.

Watching The Imitation Game, and will watch The Expendables 3 afterwards.

Think this ends the early part of the 2014-runthrough, finished the rewatches I remember a little too clearly (like The Imitation Game), and the basic action movies (like Expendables 3).

60 movies left, 40 rewatches, and 20 first time viewings (lower than other years, including coming years, but just turned out that way).

I think The Imitation Game is a fascinating movie, third time seeing it. There’s just something about it preventing me from rating/ranking it among the very best from 2014, it just doesn’t seem accurate enough.

Many of the best movies ever are fiction (The Godfather etc), yet seem real in every way. But there is something about a movie like this, that it really needs to be fully accurate imo.

The fact that they added a (completely fictional) subplot about Turing covering up espionage is heinous

Fully agree. If they made it in a similar way, but stuck to the truth, it would be a far superior movie, and probably a top ten from 2014 movie.

This was a ton of fun. It's everything you'd expect. Some super graphic stuff that really got to me, too.
