He's just an average drummer. Like thousands out there with the same skillset.
People went bonkers over his upload of Go the drumming in which is NOTHING to write home about.
It's very basic stuff, really.

Jack Irons was a standout drummer.
Danny Carey is a standout drummer.
Or Jason Nekrutman.
Dave A is just your average garage band level of performer.
Nothing would change with his return to PJ.
They used to be a riff and bass driven rock band blessed with having a heavyweight of a solo guitarist in McCready and a snarling, growling baritone behemoth in Vedder. Now they are... I really don't know, what.
Awful take. Dave wasn’t Hercules, but there was a bounce to his playing that the rest of the band played off of, and they’ve not had it since (and I prefer their chemistry with Jack)
He's right about the last point though

They’re a perfect example why democracy doesn’t work!

So you’re saying Pearl Jam needs a strongman. Make Animal Great Again!

I don't think I understand.
How does that manifest itself? In his rhythmic swaying on his stool?

Might be mental association between the re-tuned and modified tempo of live shows plus inferior song writing of Pearl Jam today with Matt and the groovy heavy sound of the superior early material with Dave.

Or maybe folks just want the world back like it was in their youth

It all seems to me like a case of the grass was greener.
Speaking of groovy, Jack Irons on the drums was peak groovy PJ.
That man could somehow create a groove in songs where anyone else would have just used a standard pattern or two kickdrums, two snares and a bunch of cymbals going 1-2-3-4. He DID SOMETHING to those otherwise simple, straight forward songs that made you change lanes and tap it out on the steering wheel.
Whooo-hooo, do I love me a PJ song with Jack Irons on the drums, oh yeah.

Eddie for President I guess.
Used to be grabbing them by the pussy would get you kicked out of office but now it's a sure win at least in the primaries.

If this was 1999 and I found “Dave-matthews-band_pearl-jam_just-breathe.mp3” on Napster, I would have downloaded it just to laugh at what song was mislabeled. And then been horrified it was real.
