The point is that black Americans make up 13.4% of the population and 27% of shooting victims. As you said, stats are stats.

Yes. But what does that tell us about racism if it's not mostly white cops shooting black people? Could it be that blacks are disproportionately shot because they commit the most crime in the area?digster wrote:The point is that black Americans make up 13.4% of the population and 27% of shooting victims. You raised that statistic yourself.
If you friend didnt get into a fist fight with the cops, steal one of their tasers, and then fire the taser at them it's not really comparable is it?B wrote:Also, I had a friend who got caught driving drunk in college. When the cops confronted him and were taking down his information, he ran.
They showed up at his door a couple of hours later with his driver's license, a bill for towing his car, and a summons to court.
That's what happens when the drunk driver is white.
Wait... where's the strawman? All the stats show it's not mostly whites killing blacks. It's actually quite the opposite and everything else in between.B wrote:Strawman.tree_ wrote:https://www.nationalreview.com/2019/07/white-cops-dont-commit-more-shootings/Strawman.A new study published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences demolishes the Democratic narrative regarding race and police shootings, which holds that white officers are engaged in an epidemic of racially biased shootings of black men.

I'm bored.
He was running away from them.Bi_3 wrote: If the suspect, who had already initiated a violent confrontation and assaulted two cops and stolen a weapon from one of them, had hit the cop with the taser he would have access to a very lethal weapon and he had literally just proven he was willing to take and use a cop's weapon and had no issue with violently attacking them.
Fuck. I quoted the wrong stuff. Nevermind. I'm not going back to fix it.tree_ wrote:Wait... where's the strawman? All the stats show it's not mostly whites killing blacks. He didn't steal their taser b/c they didn't use one. When he ran, they let him go.Bi_3 wrote:If you friend didnt get into a fist fight with the cops, steal one of their tasers, and then fire the taser at them it's not really comparable is it?B wrote:Also, I had a friend who got caught driving drunk in college. The first instinct in this situation should be: let him run, we know where you sleep, foolish drunkard.
Jesus dude, they used a taser after Raysheed started the fight to end the fight. It's all very clear in the video. What is it with this place and this topic and cherry picking details?B wrote:He didn't steal their taser b/c they didn't use one. He didn't have a gun, and they knew who he was.
You're calling a fist fight, what I see as a man trying to run who got tackled and drug to the ground. That man's not attacking anyone. He's trying to get away.Bi_3 wrote:Jesus dude, they used a taser after Raysheed started the fight to end the fight. It's all very clear in the video. so heres a question then if youre so interested in cherry picking. the man was running away and was a good 10 feet away. also a taser isnt a weapon that is used to kill someone so while the cop may have fallen to the ground his life was not in real danger. now if you say it was then why do cops use a taser? but also why pursue him at all. they have all his information there in his car. there was no need to chase him through a crowded parking lot discharging their weapon let alone shooting to kill.Bi_3 wrote:Jesus dude, they used a taser after Raysheed started the fight to end the fight. It's which 13.4% that matters in terms of police interaction because crime is largely a function of the young. Lots of old whiteys out there.digster wrote:The point is that black Americans make up 13.4% of the population and 27% of shooting victims. As you said, stats are stats.
He assaulted two officers and stole one of the officer's weapon. Seconds beforehand. How can you not presume this individual poses a risk to others? HE LITERALLY JUST COMMITTED A VIOLENT ASSAULT AND NOW HAD A TASER.Peeps wrote:so heres a question then if youre so interested in cherry picking. the man was running away and was a good 10 feet away. also a taser isnt a weapon that is used to kill someone so while the cop may have fallen to the ground his life was not in real danger. now if you say it was then why do cops use a taser? but also why pursue him at all. they have all his information there in his car. there was no need to chase him through a crowded parking lot discharging their weapon let alone shooting to kill.Bi_3 wrote:Jesus dude, they used a taser after Raysheed started the fight to end the fight. like B said, they could have gone after him the next day and none of this would be talked about
