The whole theme of riot act seemed to be lowlights. And it succeeded at that. Other than can't keep and all or none, the whole thing took a path I couldn't follow. My loss maybe.

If there was a big theme or statement with riot act, Pj failed at the delivery. Cos I didn't get it and I'm not alone by no stretch.

I agree with you here, Dime. Outside of "Can't Keep", that album does nothing for me and I haven't listened to it in years. In fact "Love Boat Captain" is the song that broke my streak of undying love for everything PJ. I just don't get how they let that shit get on there and then tried to release it as a single.

I love "Down" and "Otherside" though.

Th omission of those two songs seems to suggest the downbeat fog of the thing was intentional. But as an album I guess it spoke to the time t came from.
They were never gonna make their first record post roskilde, an upbeat rock record.
There's a lack of commitment in it, 'should we still even be doing this?'
But I could be way off.
