I've cooled on I Am Mine (it was my favorite on the record when it came out), but I still think it's a good song.

If there was a big theme or statement with riot act, Pj failed at the delivery. Cos I didn't get it and I'm not alone by no stretch.
I agree with you here, Dime. Outside of "Can't Keep", that album does nothing for me and I haven't listened to it in years. In fact "Love Boat Captain" is the song that broke my streak of undying love for everything PJ. I just don't get how they let that shit get on there and then tried to release it as a single.
I love "Down" and "Otherside" though.

Th omission of those two songs seems to suggest the downbeat fog of the thing was intentional. But as an album I guess it spoke to the time t came from.
They were never gonna make their first record post roskilde, an upbeat rock record.
There's a lack of commitment in it, 'should we still even be doing this?'
But I could be way off.

Just wrapped it up. It's not awful but just boring. Can't Keep, Save You, I Am Mine, Thumbing My Way and You Are are all still pretty good in my book.
I can only dream that the next album will have the richness of this production though.

Agreed on the production...To me You Are and Help Help are the best songs on the album and some of the best PJ songs in the past decade....Help Help has the best outro of all time

All or None best song on Riot Act for me. 1/2 full not so much. I like the outro, that's about it.
