The news coverage of the Jimmy Kimmel incident in the local media. It's just totally out of proportion. There have been probably hundreds of articles about it and it just keeps going on.

Journalists are getting killed every year, some of them silenced by their own government, but those incidents never receive a media spectacle like this, when a multi millionaire talk show host, whose job is to tell jokes and interview celebrities is suspended for a ~week.

It just shows how US centric our media is.

It’s not really about Kimmel.

It's not Kimmel or Trump that annoys me here. It's about how much attention things happening in the US are getting in our media, whether it's this incident or something else like the "Free Britney" which was followed for weeks by our biggest news media's. Enough is enough. Or give me news about the lack of freedom of speech in some other country where the incident does not involve somebody from the entertainment industry.

It's similar down here. US cultural hegemony dictates what our media treats as newsworthy. Annoying

The entire western world still takes theirs cues from the US. Thats why.
