Well, in the venue his voice was booming. My wife's first show and she was blown away by his voice (she's not a PJ fan at all). After the show she's like, okay, now I get it. Anyways, I doubt it will translate to the boots/YouTube.

After settling in with this one, I feel like this is the best record they've done since Riot Act. That may not be huge competition, but there's quite a bit of inspired stuff on this one.

why did he keep looking to the side of the stage when he was singing LTRP? i thought he'd sing sirens to his wife, not LTRP

That was exactly the problem. If they're gonna play it they need to make it a campy bluesy number. Not a faster boring rock song.

Yup. That rhythm needs to haaaaang back, man. And Ed needs to be a bit less self-conscious if he wants to channel Marc Bolan.

He does some playing around with the other songs though, so that's alright. The off-kilter intro to MYM, and the nice time-signature of YM. I'm a bit worried that if BoB's on board, Matt's songs will keep getting turned into The Fixer. For all that that song was fun, I don't want another one.

It would have had a chance of not being horrible if they had stuck more to the spirit of matts demo.

I agree. The demo sounds more quirky a la "Mankind".

Even though the demo is nice, though, didn't it really have no lyrics? So it would've all depended on Ed's lyrics. The music isn't what lets the song down imo. Actually neither are the lyrics, really, I just think they're delivered with too much seriousness.

He does. And the guitars on Infallible are so much better and dirtier live than on the album. Not sure why they went with a synth/poppy sound on LB.
