i pretty much feel the same. i like bernie too, i'm not 100% sure who i'm voting for tomorrow.

Nominating Biden would be so insane. The DNC learned nothing from 2016.

that's not true at all. Their job is to bring together a really disparate set of voters. I don't like Biden for POTUS any more than you do -- he's old, he's out of touch, and he's too moderate for our current times. But he'll bring in a ton of money, and a ton of black votes, and maybe even a not significant amount of independent/Never Trump Republicans in districts where it counts.

From a strategic perspective, it should be easy to understand why pairing Biden with a left-leaning candidate is the best play, given their options.
Yeah both parties have tried that strategy over and over and its still a failure. Utter insanity.

if you're talking 10k-foot view about having the dem power brokers handpick their preferred candidate, that's a different argument (and one that is mitigated by just how polarizing bernie's platform is). but if you're comparing biden to clinton, then no, it's not apples to apples.

Clearly you guys learned nothing from 2016 either. Ugh. Imagine thinking Biden v Trump isn’t an apples to apples comparison to Hillary v Trump. Jesus.

Biden and Hillary are both evil centrist scum. Put them next to each other and I’m not sure I could even tell them apart.

An out of touch moderate with lots of establishment connections and no real positions on anything and questionable campaigning skills vs. a passionate populist with a platform that motivates people to vote.

It is absolutely the same thing.

And you don’t think that applies to that creepy fucker Biden who flat out said he doesn’t care about the plight of young people? Young people aren’t gonna turn out to vote for that asshole.

The bold text is what I simply can't understand. It's a small group and they will all have the summer/fall to convince themselves that they can't vote for the Democratic party. Also, none of these people will bring in as many black votes as Obama. If Hillary (who has much love in that comminuty) couldn't pull Obama numbers there is no reason to believe Biden can.

you're looking at this way too myopically. a lot of young people didn't turn out in droves to vote for hillary because they, like a lot of people, took it for granted that she would get elected because there was no way someone like trump was going to actually get elected, let alone someone like trump who was trailing in the polls 3-5% up until election day. it's a different political landscape today. and if you guys think that a 78-year-old career candidate from the northeast pushing his "democratic-socialist" policies is the only salvation for the democrats against trump and who is going to capture the hearts of all of the on-the-fence white suburbanite women, then i don't know what to tell you.

It's like we are living in two entirely different worlds. Is there a President Romney in your timeline?
