Totally different. I don't think Felix is overrated whatsoever. A career ERA of 2.60 at Fenway (8 starts) and 1.37 ERA at new Yankee Stadium in 7 starts.

Yeah, i phrased that poorly. I just was relaying a situation of an otherwise great pitcher inexplicably struggling against a franchise.

Michael Young always struggled against the Red Sox. He was like a .250 career hitter (50 points below career average) at Fenway. So I'm sure they thought he sucked.

Ian Kinsler (as you know now) is incredibly frustrating on the road and in the second half. His splits are really bad. Here are some numbers....

At home in his career...
.299 avg with an OPS of .874

On the road....
.248 with an OPS of .714


Career first half.....
.285 with an OPS of .832

Second half.....
.257 with an OPS of .742

Jose Bautista has a 1.390 OPS at Target Field with 11 home runs in 14 games.

The flip side of this, is us Tiger fans, believe Bruce Chen is one of the most amazing pitchers in baseball history.

I just looked up Reed Johnson's stats against Boston because I thought they would be amazing. It turns out in 2005 he had a game against them where he had 2 home runs and 5 RBI, then a week later he came off the bench against the Sox in the 6th inning and somehow, in just 3 innings, managed to go 2 for 3 with another home run and 6 RBI. Other than those two games, his career numbers are below average against the Red Sox.

It's amazing how, nearly ten years later, I still think of Reed Johnson as a Red Sox-killer because of what he did in two games.

If I remember correctly, Frank Catalonotto had insane numbers against the Red Sox.

I'm very happy Derek Jeter is retiring. Nothing but respect for him despite my Yankee hatred but he tears us apart. The Yankees are 92-57 all-time against the Rangers with Jeter playing. He had a 33 game hitting streak from 1998-2001. His stats all time against us are as follows...


.327 AVG
.399 OBP
.911 OPS

Not to mention the Yankees knocked us out of the playoffs three out of four years from 96-99. Ugh.


The success Vlad Guerrero (who is one of my all time favorite players) has had against us in his career is well-documented. I wanna say a 37-38 game hitting against us which I believe is an all time record against one time. With a .395 avg, .461 OBP and an OPS of 1.122 against us I was thrilled when we signed him in 2010.
