I think they will probably settle out of court... They will probably give Vicky a slightly bigger cut (undeservingly) and that will be it..

I dont know, the band does not fuck around with this. They are cool dudes, but they go with what they want.

but clearly at their own terms. No producers bullshit, no marketing campaign outside of what they want to do. Im sure that also involves money...they are going to give Vicky whataver she gets. No more.

Yeah. But do they really want to meet her in court over this? THey way I look at this Vicky hass three options.

A) Drop the case and give the tapes to SG.
B) Spend money on legal representation for a long time and most likely loose the case in court
C) Settle the case out of court. SG will probably meet some of her financial demands.

Vicky will lose in scenario A and B. C is the only way she will get something out of this....

Vicky sounds like a real winner here...

It's not just the court case/settlement. There are royalties at play here. If push came to shove the SG guys could just not play ball at all and those tapes remain unheard (if they are SG copyright).

Maybe she thinks a solo release is where the big money is.

she is trying to get those songs and release them as a solo Chris thing...It seems it impossible someone would think those songs were for a chris solo album.

If SG get those files and release them with new music, she could maybe release those demos as chris demos?? i dont know.

Especially as based on the papers submitted, the band have tapes of them in rehearsals playing the songs with Chris. The only exception seems to be the final song in the list which is Chris solo, but Kim has mails from Chris saying that the band need to rework it... ie. it's a song intended for Soundgarden.

After reading the papers, I can't see how Vicky can possibly win this case.

No, that's why I think she wanted to settle all this time. It's her only way to have a bigger piece of the slice I think. But Im no legal expert

It's not only money she wants though, it's control.

I haven't read the filings in too much detail but I understood that was part of the argument over the jurisdiction in which the case is heard (Floria v Washington); the laws in Florida are more favourable to her gaining some ongoing say in the way Soundgarden manage their music (i.e. she inherits Chris's "vote" in band management, rather than she retains the right to his royalties but has no ongoing say in how the band operates, which is what the band prefer.)

What an absolute Munter this woman is.

Hope soundgarden stick it to her in court and don’t feel forced to settle.

Ah ok, I was wondering why the band were objecting so much to the Florida filing - makes a lot of sense in that regard! Their point is valid anyway - the band and associates named in the lawsuit are clearly all Washington based.

Its not the first time she does stuff like this, but it also sounds like a really bad advice from some attorneys.

Not happy with just his money, she also wanted to control Chris. Now she wants to control Soundgarden. What a sad end to Chris' legacy.

Give it time. Remember the whole Nirvana fiasco? That seemed to eventually work out after lots of drama. I am sure those recordings will find the light of day eventually.
