Of course I loved seeing Vader but even still i couldnt help but think "sure, but like 4 days later he can barely move and the fith with obi wan is awful"

Still super great to watch though. Total badass. Makes me want more vader!

Tarkin - My god i couldnt get over that. What an amazing feat.

Lei was a little jaring but super cool.

Not enough Gaelyn and Kenrick conflict. That is a relationship that should have been a major focus of the film i think.

Not having the crawl was cool and im glad they still had "a long time ago...."

There were a lot of orchestral callbacks as well. The score was great. It was new and unique but a lot of the same notes and passages from the prequels and some of OT were definitely weaved into the new pieces. Was pretty cool

I don't know if Leia will hold up over time, but you had to be scrutinizing Tarkin pretty hard to know he was fake. If I hadn't known he was impossible, I wouldn't have thought much of it. It would have just been another dude.

Leia's line of dialogue at the end totally change the original meaning of the first film. Originally, A New Hope signified the new hope for the Jedi and the Rebellion by introducing Luke into the fight. Number one, he's the newest, and presumably only, candidate for being trained as a Jedi and continuing the fight against the Dark Side. And since the goals of the Dark Side coincide with plans of the Empire, by extension, Luke's involvement with the Rebellion has two purposes.

Leia's line that concludes R1 totally invalidates that meaning. "A New Hope" now refers to the fact that the new hope is that the Rebellion has a new hope for victory in the form of the Death Star plans and the knowledge there is a built-in flaw in the structure. (IIRC, in the original film, the Rebels don't find the flaw until studying the plans after being delivered by R2.) So, the meaning behind it has been irrevocably changed. For better? For worse? I'm not sure.

Tarkin having the Death Star blow up the base on scariff is so brilliant. Plays into the character and how they've established him in Rebels and Catalyst so well. He's not only full knowing that he's about to kill the upstart Krennic. He's willing To wipe out thousands of his own people to prevent a rebel victory. As he says to Kanan 'I know what it takes to win a war. You don't'. Brilliant

Cassian vs. Poe....I think Cassian seemed more authentic and less cheesy. I thought that the last 30 minutes or so was more thrilling than the TFA. Uploading the plans, all the deaths, passing the plans from rebel to rebel, and then Vader as we've never seen him act (in the suit). That's fun stuff!

It's awesome but a part of me is kinda cringing at Vaders entrance when he meets Krennic. It's like a Michael Jackson entrance. (I love MJ) but i wish they'd gone the opposite and made it total darkness and have him emerge from that instead of smoke machine and backdrop lighting

no idea Tarkin wasn't a real. I wasn't sure that Leia would turn around at the end and show her face but I thought she looked good. I didn't expect it to lead right in to A New Hope. The whole movie had that WWII suicide mission feel. I figured everyone would die but Jyn so that was a surprise. I really liked Chirrut and Baze and the K-2SO. Cassian and the defector pilot were fine. I figured Saw was going to be part of the team. Effects and space battles were really good. Vader was fantastic. Liked it.
