Nothing says "Star Wars in the 21st century" quite like "obviously a formula."

Dude, you can't be that jaded to not see how similar it was to a New Hope, right?

I saw this post on a different message board and I feel like it says what I was trying to say back when the trailer first dropped. This is basically exactly where I'm at with the "Jedi must end" line and what it means.
They've spent an entire season of Rebels (which is canon) introducing the concept of...something...existing between the dark and the light.

I think what they're going to do is introduce the original teachings of the Whills, allowing them to go into how corrupted the Jedi Order had become over the milennia, like it's a cult, and that cutting themselves off from all emotion (including positive emotion like love and family) was a mistake that fed directly into the rise of the dark side.
That's what I was trying to say the other day but I wasn't able to properly articulate.

You did just fine, friend. I understood exactly what you meant.

Well yeah. And I wonder how much of it is a message being pushed. Religion is bad.
Sith and Jedi were one and the same initially and just split because of interpretation.

Neither way is the right way. Be in the middle and accept all wisdom from each side and extreme and you have balance.

That's a hot take but definitely seems like Luke has arrived at some higher state with wisdom and learning from both teachings and is reluctant at first to enlighten Rey.

My question is where do they both end up at the end of it.

You guys can continue to believe in and trust the marketing as much as you want. But I'm going to go ahead and trust the guy who wrote and directed the movie. From Good Morning America, we have what I'm going to call official confirmation that the title is singular, not plural.

I'm all on board with luke being the last Jedi. As rian said and seems to have written.

Beware marketing misdirected though.

But it would bring Star Wars into a new place if they drop good v bad light v dark simple moral structure and embraced shades of grey.

It's not actually. They made the movie to make a billion dollars.
Just hope they wrote a good story to earn it.

‪Latest rumour. George just rented Star Wars to Disney. Their times up after 9 and he's coming back to take over again. Beginning with Obi Wan. Let's see ‬
