Seeing some of the reunions on GOT confirms this for me. It would have been a nice touch as long as they didn’t go over the top with it.
they'll all be together as force ghosts visible to rey when she's burning kylo's body with the porgs

There’s a difference between putting the OT characters in scenes together for “fan service” and story. There’s no reason they couldn’t mold the story to fit some scenes with OT characters to make sense.

Although they repurposed the Empire and Death Star, I’d say their story development skills were lacking

I’m pretty sure Mark Hamill was not happy with how Luke was used in TFA and the character in TLJ. Then doing damage control to make sure TLJ opened with no distractions.

Also, none of this happens without the OT back in the day. Don’t forget where everything came from.

Well, we’re getting Han back.

And Palpatine fell down that Death Star shaft and opened a time portal and zapped into the future.

So yeah. Guess so.

Probably. It’s hard to go in with no preconceived notions when we do months of speculation based off official news and unofficial rumors. Plus the fact I thought TLJ was boring doesn’t help.

But I’m hoping I’ll be pleasantly surprised.

As a story fixer (f.ex. in Star Trek) I usually hate time travel. But if it’s done as a whole concept like in Dr. Who or Back To The Future, I can enjoy it.
Spoiler: show
Endgame was so well done, that I surprised myself by letting it slide.
However, it should not be used in Star Wars.

So why bother wasting all this time on it?

They’re filming Dune at that exact location we see Rey in.

That’s awesome. I can’t wait for that movie

Need to read the book again so I can complain endlessly on the internet about it before I’ve seen the film.
