Didn’t hate it or think it was awful. Bill Hader had some good scenes. First Amy Schumer movie I’ve ever seen. Think she was the worst thing about the movie. A better actress and it would have been a fine romantic comedy.tragabigzanda wrote:Yeah it’s awfulVinylGuy wrote:hated this oneAnders wrote:Trainwreck

Will watch this next. I do really like Bill Hader.

I agree that all the worst scenes had her in it, including that one. However, I did laugh out loud a few times from the movie, and that's a big plus.VinylGuy wrote:Her scene at the basketball court? The Little Prince
«A little girl lives in a very grown-up world with her mother, who tries to prepare her for it. Her neighbor, the Aviator, introduces the girl to an extraordinary world where anything is possible, the world of the Little Prince.»
Seems well rated, will try to watch it with my daughter.

This should be interesting.

Re: What movies are you watching?
It’s an interesting movie in some ways, certainly well made, but not a big personal favorite of mine.
Also saw Cinderella (2015). Nice adaptation. Not as brilliantly made as Anomalisa, but overall it has other qualities that puts it about on par. Epic, classic story, some humour.
And The Age Of Adaline. Didn’t think I would rewatch it so soon, but decided to do so for the 2015 run I’m on. The movie is growing on me. My first impression of it wasn’t great, but it’s a grower.

Re: What movies are you watching?
I remembered being really impressed by it because going in I felt the puppet thing was a gimmick, but by the end I saw that it was totally necessary to the story and spoke to the larger ideas in the movie and it was just all pulled off really well. I liked that one

Re: What movies are you watching?
I listened to The Big Picture Pod about this movie. I haven't listened to the Ari Aster interview on that pod yet, but the conversation about the movie is really valuable. The movie is still terrible. But it was nice to hear a measure discussion about it.The Argonaut wrote:You throw yourself off the Brooklyn Bridge, traditionally. George Washington Bridge? That was also a good one. Almost certainly the movie I saw the most my last two years of college. Re: What movies are you watching?
Funny though that every single movie that they reference in relation to Beau (A Single Man, Under the Silver Lake, The Master, Barton Fink, Mother!, Eraserhead, etc) is vastly superior to Beau.epilogue wrote:I listened to The Big Picture Pod about this movie. Re: What movies are you watching?
Ha! I'd agree. Personally, in the room I thought of Synecdoche NY, I'm Thinking of Ending Things, and Barton Fink.
I see the Silver Lake line, too.
