The Dressmaker was really odd. Checked some reviews, and it has a lot of five star ones (or 10 out of 10), but it’s a no from me.

The Longest Ride

«The lives of a young couple intertwine with a much older man, as he reflects back on a past love.»

Pleasant start so far. Can see a bit of Clint in Scott Easteood here.

That's libertarians. For some reason in Spanish we call libertarians liberals, but American liberalism is more center-left

And absolutely, Burt already said he likes Milei

The modern love story is a bit too typical. Two extremely good looking and successful people, with just a minor twist or two.

However, the story of Ira and Ruth (with Alan Alda as Ira looking back at his life), is excellent, truly showing a developing relationship and the troubles they face. This was the type of relationship I like to see, emphasizing care and compassion for the one you want to share your life with it.

No Escape

«In their new overseas house, an American family soon finds themselves caught in the middle of a coup, and they frantically look for a safe escape from an environment where foreigners are being immediately executed.»

Just barely started this. Will finish it tomorrow morning. It’s a long weekend here.

After this one, there will be thirty movies left from 2015. Twenty I have not seen before, and my top ten from the year that I had seen going into this.

Feel like this could have been a really good movie with some changes. It’s certainly suspenseful, and the two kids do a really good job.

They should have based this on the coup in Cambodia, which they are clearly channeling, and made it just a little more realistic. The rest is fine as it is.

As a total product as it is, it’s just ok. Lots of action and suspense.

The ending was a bit much. How many times can you get captured by crazy killers and still escape?

Ok, I think it happened four times in this movie. So just inside the maximum amount then.

Joy

« Joy is the story of the title character, who rose to become founder and matriarch of a powerful family business dynasty.»

I have really liked a few David O. Russell movies, so hope this will be another one.

Second half is so much better. From the first second Bradley Cooper gets on screen, the movie rises a full star.
