It was an acceptable amount. But I did have to watch 22 Jump Street to get it. Probably not worth it in hindsight.

That is one of my favorite movies of all time. I think it's beautiful (and very disturbing). Fairuza Balk gives one of my favorite child performances.

I watched Stranger by the Lake and The Immigrant last night.

SBTL was basically gay Basic Instinct. It looked really pretty, but didn't amount to much.

The Immigrant sucked. Somehow it managed to be both pervasively miserable and unconvincingly saccharine at the same time.

22 Jump Street had it's moments. Not near as good as the first. Ice Cube was hilarious and the scene with Queen LaTifah is hilarious.

This weekend my fiancée and I watched "The Russians Are Coming The Russians Are Coming" which was apparently a huge success and a pretty big deal when it came out in the '60s; it was one of Alan Arkin's first movies and featured a young Carl Reiner; it was boring.

How was Goldie Hawn ever famous? She's just terrible.

Just watched Monty Python Live (Almost), which was long-form entertainment on a screen, so I may as well mention it here rather than start a new thread.

Palin and Idle were great, energetic, knew their lines - obviously put the time in. Gilliam was game, as usual. Jones and Cleese were the weak links, though they each had a couple of moments. Cleese especially is a pity, since it was he and Palin that carried the group back in the day. I wish they'd done another week's rehearsal.

Too much dancing, the language was censored (though Eric Idle managed to squeak an F-word in ahead of the guy pushing the bleep button), and things were a bit creaky, but I couldn't not break into a goofy grin watching Palin & Cleese nail the argument sketch, or Idle ham his way through Nudge Nudge.

Snowpiercer. Wtf was that? What a clumsy, silly, moronic piece of shit. I think I kinda liked it.

watched some parts of most of all the Twilight movies today. oh, and Hangover 3. wow.

There is a line near the end where he's talking about the early days at the back of the train and how they had to eat each other to survive, and then he says "the worst thing about me is I know what people taste like", which is corny and dumb and not at all shocking, but then he adds, "and I know babies taste the best."

I fucking lost my shit. I think the audience thought I was nuts or something, but that line was so funny. I was in tears trying not to make noise.

Captain America eatin' babies. lol.

I watched Watchmen last week after re-reading the graphic novel for the first time in 4-5 years (had never seen the movie before). Leaving aside the changes to the story (which are inevitable in any adaptation), I thought it was pretty entertaining, although non-comic fans may be lost. There was a lot of slow motion, too; probably too much.

The sex scene in the airship is pretty much one of my favorite sequences in recent movie history.
