maybe prices will come down.
That'd be good
down a run, call on ells... i mean papi.
i like the motto: why put off to the 9th what you can do in the 4th?

--Bottom 4th, 4-3 Tigers: I'm not really expecting a win as Rick Sutcliffe comments that Papi's timing may be off...and then he gets interrupted midsentence by a crushed ball.
--Bottom 5th, 4-4: Getting ready to go to a bar to meet up for MGMT. A thunderstorm hits, so I decide to hang around for Pedroia's at bat. He battles for a long time before getting the go-ahead RBI. Feeling better.
--Bottom 6th, 5-4 Red Sox: Get to the bar, wait for people, and I'm fortunate enough to find the game on TV. Before I know it, bases get loaded quickly. I see Carp get a bases loaded walk, and then Middlebrooks crushes the grand slam. At 10-4, I say, "that's game", and go into the show.
--Getting home after MGMT: Decide to cool down after an awesome show by reading some news. On the Yahoo feed, I see that the Red Sox won
20-4. I thought, "no way, that has to be a typo, they meant 10-4", but I was wrong.
I just hope this isn't the type of game that the Tigers remember if they face each other in the playoffs.

I'd really, really like to see the Sox take home best record in the AL. If they make the playoffs (knocks on wood) I'd really, really love to see another ALCS. This is all gravy right now.

It's funny how we got used to being in the playoffs, I remember being disgusted in 2009 with the manner in which they made the playoffs. Now I'm just back to being super excited just to be in them.

totally agree here. it's nice to fall flat for a few years, and easier to write that sentence given where the sox are right now.
we were taking making the playoffs for granted around here way too much. at least i was.

Eckersley is a crazy person. "Painting" vs "Partying"? (I mean, obviously I've heard "paint" before...does he make this other shit up?)

I love when he says, "just to stay in shape."

it feels like (for this season at least) the yankees have become the red sox from the 90s, where they've got older players at almost every position and only one true ace (eventhough he's not pitched like his past self).
