Yes, that riff in the chorus sounded more than bad. It sounded unfinished or otherwise muddy and unsure.

Hopefully it has some warmth and interesting sounds/tones/vocal layering during the chorus.4/5 wrote:The chorus might suck, but there are parts of that song that remind me of 1996-2002 PJ. If they do this one right in the studio it has a chance to be pretty good. At the very least this one seems to have the most potential of the three.
A man can dream.
I'm just havinbg a hard part with the waves crashing..shoreline...castle to sand blah blah part...lol hard to concentrate while working though. I'll get it, and when I'm done I'll post them.stip wrote:i am impressed with the close listens so many of you can do with these live recordings. I can only pick up on the most obvious details (I had the same problem with that soundcheck song)
We had pretty much the same lyrics.Thejambi wrote:My Best attempt
She comes down like a stone
But she don’t know where from she was thrown
Like a hurling meteor, from miles high
She’s looking for a place to land
She said “You got yourself some sand”
And whatever you’ve replied she took as ...yes
She comes after me
With her newly planted seeds
And soon you’re thrown down on your knees, and then you’re dead
Then before you know, The weeds are obesely overgrown
With All the wild seeds she sows in your sleep
You gotta know you’ll never let her go
She’s a lightning Bolt, Lighting Bolt, Lightning Bolt
Always something, never nothing
Isn’t that the way we’re taught to dream…. to dream
Oh looking through the worn out pages and stages
When you knew not who to be…yeah! YEAH!!
Until the lightning strike SETS!! you free! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!!
You gotta know you’ll never let her go
She’s a lightning Bolt, Lighting Bolt, Lightning Bolt
Crashing stormy waves erode her shoreline everyday
Until the castle of her ways turns to sand
Then before you know, The weeds are obesely overgrown
With all the wild seeds she’s sows in your sleep
And with no repair in sight there is
No God with such might
As you open her world.. wide with such a view.
And Your efforts to arrive
As she finally decides
That all her problems, they will die with you
She’s a lightning bolt
Never let her go

I'm getting something like....she came out of nowhere and struck him like lightning and he fell hard for her, later realizing that its much more overwhelming being married than he thought, but he loves her and he'll never let her go despite the overwhelmingness of it all...stupidmop wrote:It's okay !
So far this album has 2 okays ( though MYM is growing on me) and a Hate it which isn't the best case scenario but it could be worse.
I hope pearl jam don't construe this as a challenge to make it worse.
I still can't really tell what this songs about. Is he never letting her go cause he loves her? Or because she screwed him over or something. The part's about the weeds don't really sound positive to me.
It's not a coincidence. He just was listening to the song and thought it would be cool to repeat that idea, but ironise it.elliseamos wrote:i'm pretty sure somebody's already said this, but it can't be a coincidence that the same guy wrote:
caught a bolt of lightening
cursed the day he let it go

The Wrigley version was awful.digster wrote:I thought that Ontario version sounded pretty awesome, actually.
Looks good man. Yeah I didn't read your because I didn't want to have any preconceived notions apart from what I heard.Walker Bait wrote:We had pretty much the same lyrics.Thejambi wrote:My Best attempt
