I’d love to hear as well if you wouldn’t mind sharing.

I meant to get this up last night, but it slipped my mind. Here it is, the Vs. 25th Anniversary episode of PJ Radio:

Do you still need this?

That podcast reminded me how much control Stone had over the band in those early years.

I know this have been talked to death, I just cant find the post, but would you have liked an album between Ten and Vs maybe with all the outtake material? Something like:
- Wash
- Breath
- Solat
- Hard to Imagine
- Brother
- Hold On
- Chinese
- Alone
- Cready Stomp
- Footsteps
- Yellow Ledbetter
Or you prefered them being just bsides? I think theyre strong enough to carry their own album.

This album right here is better than anything Billy Joel ever crapped out.

But to answer your question it was fun seeking out those B-sides at the time, and hearing something like HTI in concert was amazing.

Replace Glorified G, Dissident, Rats, Leash, and Indifference, with Wash, State of Love and Trust, Hard to Imagine, Brother, Alone, and Footsteps. And you've got a much better album.

the best songs on this album area as good as they've ever been.

No way -- I like a lot of those songs but except for maybe "Alone" they have an entirely different feel.
I've recently been reawakened to the awesomeness of
Ten and
Vs.. Because I listen to them so rarely, I mostly just think of them in relation to the records that I like even better (
No Code et al.), and end up short-shrifting them. But both of them kick serious ass.

There is just an epic sweep to them both that they've never come close to reproducing (though other than a few moments here and there I also don't know how hard they tried)

I still like what they moved onto even better, no question, but setting aside for a moment mankind's undying need to compare and rank things, these albums really do what they do very well.
Honestly at my most generous I think that's true to an extent of every PJ album except Lightning Bolt, which I just don't like.
