Really? It is only like 3 seconds but when the song was over I immediately put on dotus to figure out which song it washarmless wrote:I can't see the similarity, except for maybe the tempo.

Oh, no, sorry, I thought we were talking about "Got Some". It may well be similar to "Rusty" but I can't remember... I'll have another listen.

Listening now. I can hear the angular similarity in the riff, and the intro, but other than that, the rhythm is entirely different. It's half the tempo MFS is...

I just found the Alanis Morrissette song that Ed's quick-fire lyric delivery reminded me of: "Front Row". Not the melody (which is closest in the intro) but the rhythms of the words against the song.

A rip off of dusty is a pretty ridiculous statement.

It is 3 seconds, but it sounds the same. I don't care. There are millions of songs. Parts are similar. But it is thereThejambi wrote:A rip off of dusty is a pretty ridiculous statement.

I'm finally getting into this one. Acquiring an uncensored FLAC version has aided that immensely.

This makes sense and I agree the 3 seconds is similar but it leads to blanket statements like thisstip wrote:It is 3 seconds, but it sounds the same. I don't care. There are millions of songs. Parts are similar. But it is thereThejambi wrote:A rip off of dusty is a pretty ridiculous statement.

A shitload of songs have the same intro, even Soundgarden ripped it off.

I think that is a playful Soundgarden reference.

Yeah, that's stupid, but people are entirely too eager to play that silly 'rip off' gameThejambi wrote:This makes sense and I agree the 3 seconds is similar but it leads to blanket statements like thisstip wrote:It is 3 seconds, but it sounds the same. I did got a Soundgarden vibe from this song too. Not a specific SG song, but the band in general. I still love this track though. One of my top 5 on the record. 5 stars.

I don't mind people playing the ripoff game, as long as PJ's entire catalogue is included, as well as the greatest "ripoffs" in rock history.stip wrote:Yeah, that's stupid, but people are entirely too eager to play that silly 'rip off' gameThejambi wrote:This makes sense and I agree the 3 seconds is similar but it leads to blanket statements like thisstip wrote:It is 3 seconds, but it sounds the same.
