I gotta be honest, I wanted to turn this off the second McCartney started singing.
this is way too saccharine for me.
So this is what 'drenched in strings' sounds like. It's sopping.
This was a test. And you passed with flying colors. How does this version strike you?

Just to assuage those out there who think all Beatles fans are mindless drones who believe they can do no wrong, The Long And Winding Road is a prime example of exactly what they're capable of doing wrong. In my humble opinion, of course.

Gotta Get You Into My Life:
I liked this one. I liked the brass and the energy. It feels very 60s in a good way. I like the lazy delivery in the lyrics (other than the end of the lines) and how it is juxtaposed with the music.

Yeah, I've never really liked that song.

I'm Only Sleeping
No thank you. The harmonies, the guitar tone, the melody, this is like everything I find boring about the beatles distilled into 3 minutes. Not bad, just uninteresting. Hypnotic, in a way, but not a good way
Fuck, this goes on for two more minutes.
I can't imagine there's not better examples of every part of this song in some other Beatles song
That blurry distorted sound that cuts through occasionally is pretty annoying
Actually at the very end it was kinda cool

Okay, now compare it to this one:

I like the rhythm guitar in this one. I don't always like the guitar playing over it. I like the melody in the verses. I didn't like the bridge.
This wasn't bad.

He hasn't said anything worse than what Lennon as said about most of these songs.

I'd argue this is as good as rock music gets:
no. I think it gets at least slightly better.
oh good, they're using their deep voices.
This chorus is annoying. Fortunately it's a small part of the song.
I actually like the guitar part that gets played after the 'don't let me down' lyric. Otherwise I could leave pretty much this whole thing

It's my single favorite song in the whole world.

"We're not being mean. Let me illustrate this truth by comparing him to an insecure, self-absorbed walking heroin processing plant. See how not mean we are?"

I get under
whelmed
(the nursery rhyme stuff at the end is kinda neat)

No, I mean we're making him listen to all these songs he's not gonna like, and then we're laughing at what he says about them.

well I don't like listening to Paul McCartney, but it certainly benefits from the more stripped down presentation here.

Oh, I see. Yes. Well, for my part, I'm actually trying to pin down some songs that he might actually like. This is science, bitch!

It's all Paul.
I don't know about showing of their amazing guitar skills, but it does show off
Paul's amazing bass skills.
