I hope there's no twist like that, but up until this point you could find plenty of evidence for it and probably explain away all of Marty's actions. Why didn't Marty try to paint Rust into a corner more when he was being interviewed by the detectives? Well, it's because he was afraid Rust would do something crazy and expose them (because he didn't know what evidence Rust had at this point), and he had to get to him first. Why did Marty shoot Ledeux? Because he could have implicated him. But I think this would go against the tone and mood of the series that people have been talking about. You know what would be in line with it all? If it turns out the conspiracy does have something hanging over Marty's head, and Rust has to sacrifice himself (cop to the murders, maybe get killed somehow) in order to save Marty's family, and the killer just gets to stay out there mowing circles in the grass.

I dont think, IF marty did those things it would be to avoid implication. I think it would just be some sort of political "kill this case" because of the higher ups it might involve.

The only thing more sinister than the Yellow King is the Red Herring.

So, better, right? ;)

Stolen from Reddit....layers upon layers:
When the detectives are asking Errol for directions, he tells them "PR 1435".
Proverbs 14:35 "The king's favor is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causes shame."

This guy at my work has some really outlandish ones. I can't freaking wait to watch this whole season in a day after it wraps up.

It took 6 months to shoot those 8 episodes. That's a lot of time for a film actor. And he probably has a lot more opportunities now that he'll want to take advantage of.

But it's for the best. It makes me cherish this first season even more.

Yeah, I don't understand how this is news. They were never coming back for a second season, nor would I want them to.

Marty seems to get really fired up over child abuse and not even in a reaction formation way. It would just be too out of character for him to be in on the cult.

Kinda makes you wonder if he was abused himself. I don't think we'll ever get that sort of insight into his background, but it adds a nice bit of ambiguity.

the first interview is also worth reading. i'm feeling temporarily relieved that a gotcha-moment seems improbable.
