well i disagree...TCV were more bluesy than any QOTSA song from SFTD...And live they were a different beast too.
Sure but I wasn't talking about SFTD, I'm talking about the Them Crooked Vultures album and the new QOTSA songs.

i really cant say much about the new songs, it will take me a while to digest them. I can say that they sound more like Rated R era material.

Either way the point I was trying to make is Josh Homme has a particular guitar playing style, sense of arrangement and chord choice which essentially brings a continuity of sound to all his projects. But I don't disagree on your comparisons between Rated R and SFTD.

i agree with that too..i always say Josh´s guitar skills, voice and songwriter skills reminds me of Neil Young. You listen to a solo guitar and you just know its him.

It's interesting to look back over the last six or so years and see how JHo saw this coming together:
In February 2011 Josh Homme wrote:"We're not in any hurry. Going through what I've gone through over these last few months, I just want to make it right until there are enough beautiful songs to make a record. And until then I don't really care much about anything else."

But Homme can give a hint of what's to come and this time around it's all about the ladies, drinking and, um, techno music?

"It's like trance rock n' roll for girls basically. Who cares what the guys want? Once the girls are dancing all the guys are going to do that anyway. You know how a lot of guys are too afraid to dance, well that sucks. What are you going to do, hold the wall up all night? Not me, I'm ready to get drunk and fall down.

"I like music to sound raw and natural. Perfection is kind of gross for me. I like scars and missing teeth and stories and eye patches and stuff. I don't want perfect. To me, this universe is only made because of imperfection and so it's a luxury and you should go ahead and bear-hug it."

I'm not sure of the name. I've heard four of the new tracks. I think it may be the other one with the animated filmclip.

Thanks.

What's the highest Album Hype Rating that can be scored? I guess this one's gotta be up there.

I was about to put this here.

Nice, maybe the weakest song I've heard for this album, but still pretty good.

Not a huge fan of QOTSA opening songs, maybe This Lullaby is the only one I like.

So, if this truly has leaked, could someone do me the favor of PMing me a non-bit torrent link? I would love to listen to this album on the way home, but can't be torrenting at work.
