Interesting . Ghost Riders is a grower though. Tides is too derivative.
More derivative than Ghost Riders?
I don't hear it at all.
What's to hear? It's just words on a screen, bro.
VoiceOver bro. I don't read this shit.
Lemme buy you a beer.

Today, I'm going to listen to all the studio albums all the way through in chronological order.

As time allows, indeed. I hope to get some writing done as well. We'll see how it all shakes out.

Ten is so good. There just isn't a bad song on the thing. What a phenomenal album. It's not the one I reach for most often anymore, but damn it still holds up. One of the best pure rock albums I've ever heard. And the remix makes it even better. Which I would have told you was impossible fifteen years ago.

it really is. Although I think the remixes are maybe a bit over 50/50 for me.

some of that is because there are already 3 better remixes on RVM, and I think his second attempt at remixing black, once, and alive is not as good.

Are the RVM remixes different? I never noticed.

I have to say the remix of Black on RVM is stellar - as for the other two, not sure which ones I prefer

they are. The best versions of each of the songs, imo

Well, I never listen to RVM. Like I said, I had no idea those remixes were different from the full Ten album reissue/remixes.

Either way, I heart the holy hell out of the reissue. I think those mixes are better than the original mixes.

I'm now through No Code and onto Yield. Listening to No Way right now. How anyone could dislike this song is beyond me. It's so, so good. No Code suffers because of Habit, I'm Open and Mankind. Otherwise, it's an amazing record. Also, it hurts that it's the album between Vitalogy and Yield. Both which are vastly superior efforts.

Vs, suffers from the same problem.

Agreed. When I moved all of my albums into MP3 format and onto my phone, to play in the car, I removed these tracks. The album now flows perfectly.

Mankind has things that I like about it. But it just isn't a very successful song. Habit and I'm Open really should have been cutting room floor songs.

Yield is gorgeous. I actually think Yield fits Stip's No Code thesis better than No Code does. And it's just a solid rock record from start to finish. Even songs like Pilate and Push Me, Pull Me and Wishlist have aged really well. There's a lot going on. It's a great record to listen to while driving around and pumping tunes. But there's so much depth, as well. It's a great headphones record.

the chorus of No Way really knocks the song down for me. The bridge too. Great music though
