I was so disappointed by the late '80s movie; it was awful. The book has some of the most intense sequences Kings has written (at least as of then).

The book is probably his best. The scene where he's taking Gage to bury him is particularly good. Actually reminded me of a scene in Things Fall Apart, though somehow I dont see a coked out King making a purposeful Chinua Achebe reference.
