C'mon fellas! We are so complacent these days.

Yeah, listened to that live on the way to work.Green Habit wrote:It's fun to tease Brady for all the GIFs that get made of him saying fuck over and over, but I like that he's standing up for it instead of crafting some phony apology.

100% agree.Coach wrote:Man, Revis needs to stay.
Do you think they pay him $20 million to stay next year? That's what he's getting unless the Pats cut him before free agency starts.elliseamos wrote:100% agree.Coach wrote:Man, Revis needs to stay.
I almost say "yes," because next to Brady, Revis is the most valuable player on the team. Maybe they can rip up the agreement and get Revis more $$ up front. I dunno. Where there's a will, there's a way. Revis is a great fit in the locker room. Really well spoken. Does great with the local fans and media. Boston can rub sensitive athletes the wrong way, but Revis is anything but sensitive.Green Habit wrote:Do you think they pay him $20 million to stay next year? I mean after he gets Brady his 4th ring in a few weeks, Golden Boy will probably play for the minimum to keep Revis in NE. He isn't going anywhere.Coach wrote:I almost say "yes," because next to Brady, Revis is the most valuable player on the team. Maybe they can rip up the agreement and get Revis more $$ up front. i'd expect a restructure of his existing deal as soon as they possibly can, but not in a fashion that puts him on the open market.4/5 wrote:I mean after he gets Brady his 4th ring in a few weeks, Golden Boy will probably play for the minimum to keep Revis in NE. If Brady got a 4th SB, he'd desperately want a 5th - it would break the record. So in that respect, I guess it's possible he'd take less again, but "sources," reported in the media, indicate Brady wants a big deal $$$ when his current one ends.4/5 wrote:I mean after he gets Brady his 4th ring in a few weeks, Golden Boy will probably play for the minimum to keep Revis in NE. I think the word you're looking for is "extension".elliseamos wrote:i'd expect a restructure of his existing deal as soon as they possibly can, but not in a fashion that puts him on the open market.
Brady will be 41 when his current contract ends. I know he's amazing, but it's highly unlikely he's getting a big deal then.Coach wrote:If Brady got a 4th SB, he'd desperately want a 5th - it would break the record. The general consensus is that he will want to rip that deal up ahead of time and restructure the contract.Green Habit wrote:Brady will be 41 when his current contract ends. That idea isn't far fetched especially when you consider the recent all out PR effort (latest example is the SI article) by his internal team to highlight the brain exercises and other unconventional training he's doing to put himself in a competitive position to play even into his mid to late 40s.
I wouldn't be shocked if he plays till 47-48 years old at a relatively high level.
There's pretty much 10 or so good QBs in the NFL and the rest is complete crap. So, by "relatively high level," I don't view that as a high benchmark to reach these days in the NFL...there's probably 5-10 retired QBs that could return and compete for starting jobs right now. The NFL has a serious problem with QBs. I only need to watch the RedZone to confirm this.spike wrote:Coach wrote:The general consensus is that he will want to rip that deal up ahead of time and restructure the contract.Green Habit wrote:Brady will be 41 when his current contract ends. I think the bigger shortage is in quality offensive coordinators. I blame RGIII flaming out on the coaching staff and management. To a certain extent, the same for Cutler. The number of sacks he took that one year in Chicago was a disgrace. I think there are enough quality quarterbacks, just too many stuck in offences that are not geared to what they can do well.Coach wrote:There's pretty much 10 or so good QBs in the NFL and the rest is complete crap.
