That's a pretty stellar setlist. I love Olsen Olsen, but they've been playing it a ton over the past 5 years and replacing it with the debut of Rafstraumur is awesome.

Such an amazing show...easily my favorite current band and it isn't close. First time I got Glosoli and Festival!!! It took maybe 30 seconds of just Jonsi standing there playing the beginning of Festival for me to realize what it was, but when I figured it out I pretty much lost my mind. And it didn't disappoint. I'm exhausted right now, but man that was so worth it.

I've probably said this after both of the other times I've seen them, but Popplagið is the absolute perfect song to end a show. For me it literally does not get any better than that.

Indeed a great way to end a show.
All this talk has me thinking about when I got to see them as well. Sadly Popplagið wasn't captured with the recording but that pull can still be found here.

And it was every bit as amazing as it sounds like it'd be.

That video was pretty cool, although it seems like there were some sound problems, but perhaps that's simply the recording. I love the emotional thrust Jónsi was giving some of the vocals in "Hoppípolla"; those extended falsetto notes in "Festival" were neat, too.

I was browsing through the band's Wikipedia discography and happened upon a section near the bottom that compiles "Other Appearances," many of which have never appeared on official band releases. Most interesting was this one:
It's called Fljúgðu, and is apparently one of the earliest, if not the very first, Sigur Rós song. It's on a 1994 compilation of bands signed to an Icelandic label, and the band appears under the name "Victory Rose." It's pretty similar to the more normal songs on Von, having a lot of elements of shoegaze and whatnot, only with an even more lo-fi sound. Anyone else ever come across this?
