Just watched this again, loudly.

Even better than I first thought.

Yay!

Is Saturday's concert going to be on MSNBC or streamed? Thought I read that somewhere. Maybe just a portion of it is on TV?

I'm not sure. The MSNBC broadcast is several hours long. I would imagine they are airing most of, if not all, of the show.

The guide shows 100% of it being broadcast on MSNBC.

This was a fun performance. I like Colbert at the end saying "you don't get to do that everyday".

They surely aren't Vitalogy's.
I think I was to blame for the start of the tones convo, and what I said was that their tones on post-2005 TV appearances always sound better than their tones on record (which lean towards flat, textureless, lifeless, and brittle, a lot of the time). Nothing more.

I have no idea what their tones sound like live, anymore.

Sorry, two months.

I guess the guitars on the records sound the way they do because of how they get edited in mixing, i doubt they bother tweaking their tones for TV appearances.

Yeah it's airing for 7 hours on MSNBC. Does anyone know around what time or slot PJ is playing?

Yea I actually have an irrational love of the reception that RM gave to this performance.

Can anyone even point to a good sounding guitar album recorded on pro tools? They all sound like shit to me.

Did anyone notice at the end of RITFW the band is winding down after Stone's solo, it looks like it's about over, then Mike comes in for a quickie solo? Colbert seemed caught off guard, like "wow! these guys are gonna keep going???", then what looked like Colbert and Mike laughing about it, the song ends. I thought that moment was pretty good.
