I'm not gonna hate watch this. I'm not going to watch videos complaining about it. Doesn't exist. Never happened. I might give the cartoon a try.

I don't think Tolkien ever really came to a resolution as the the ultimate nature of the Orcs. As with most things he changed his mind a lot. It's always important to remember the Hobbit, the LOTR (and appendix) and the Adventures of Tom Bombadil are cannon. Everything else is Christopher Tolkien's very educated but still best understanding (guess) as to what his father intended. Even the Silmarillion.
I think that Tolkien quote Dime posted was more along the lines of the way Gollum both loved and loathed the one ring. It was the only thing keeping him going, it was his entire world without it he would be utterly without agency. There is no alternative for Gollum to the one ring. Similarly there is no alternative to Melkor or Sauron for the Orcs. They don't yearn for their wives and kids. I believe that was Tolkien's intention however he could never round it out to his satisfaction so I suppose one could get hacky with it.

Well the orcs were elves he captured and corrupted to begin with. Was the point.
Fairly sure he was clear about that at a few points. Seem to remember him answering what happens to them when they die? Don’t remember the answer though

There are various versions of the origins of the Orcs. Originally they were created by Melkor from heat and slime much like we see Saurman doing in the Two Towers movies. Then Tolkien came up with the corruptive Elves but he didn't really like that idea. If they were elves they'd have souls and go to the Halls of Mandros to be judged. Tolkien was never satisfied with that but how could Melkor create life only Eru could do that? His intention was for them to be entirely evil but if they were tortured elves that doesn't feel very good. Tolkien got himself into a pickle.

I wonder if orc families eat hobbit legs on Thanksgiving.

I don’t think Tolkien’s intentions should play any role in helping you decide if such a thing is narratively and conceptually appropriate here.

It makes far more sense they are corrupted elves. How else would they be able to pro create if being creatures of melkor nothing he ‘made’ could pro create and only was a corruption of the creation of iluvatar?

Actually I take all that back.
This is abject nonsense. All of it.
Switch off and just enjoy it as a fun interpretation.

To Bi's point about the orc family, what does it say about this show that that moment was more human and more relatable than anything else in any of the three episodes?
elf dwarf or man.
The whole politics of it is very on the nose too. I know they couldnt have planned this but the whole bit with the eagle and that being effectively stolen by the bad guys, bit close to the bone.

Is anyone even watching this slop? Sounds like the audience has dropped 50-70% from the first episode, and no one is talking about it. People can barely be bothered to hate on it. It's a billion dollar nothing.

The fact that this was necessary for them to post a week after folks stop caring should tell you something
