Just finished Enemy, which was the most laughable load of bullshit I've seen this year. That fucking ending, oh my god.

Also, I'm pretty sure it's the exact same movie as Under the Skin.

In fairness, you also think Godzilla is the best film of the year so...

I guess I can see why people might have problems with both Under the Skin and Enemy, but I really liked both.

[Simple Torture]

I watched Watchmen last week after re-reading the graphic novel for the first time in 4-5 years (had never seen the movie before). Leaving aside the changes to the story (which are inevitable in any adaptation), I thought it was pretty entertaining, although non-comic fans may be lost. There was a lot of slow motion, too; probably too much.

The sex scene in the airship is pretty much one of my favorite sequences in recent movie history.

That actress has great legs; and yeah, good scene.

Other things I liked: I dunno if this was present for the theatrical release (I watched the super-long ultimate cut), but I'm glad there was gore in this movie. Too many big-budget movies gloss over that nowadays, but the limbs and blood in this film totally hit the right tone. With how "realistic" so many of the characters were (as opposed to comic-booky), I'm glad Nixon was a caricature; it was like a darker version of the Nixon from Futurama, which is one of my favorite characters on the show.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure you're referring to the one I went to, as it was at the Music Box. However, while he was there, he did not do a Q&A, and the film had already screened once in Santa Monica.

i should have been clearer: i meant the first time a 70 mm print of the film was screened at the music box. you were at its first screening, and just now the print has again been shown there. re the q&a: i recall an ad that mentioned the special format and q&a. either my memory is bad, or the event changed at some point
