This is the million dollar question. Also been wondering how quickly people on unemployment actually go back to work given the extra $600 on top of regular benefits.
4 months? If the money manages not to run out.

Our governor wants people back in the gyms, back in the spas and beauty shops, back in the nail parlors, but he wants people to maintain six feet of separation.

McParadigm wrote:
The main reason for national shortages, according to the CEO of the Compressed Gas Association (CGA), Rich Gottwald, is a ramping down of ethanol production.

“Back in the summertime, the [Trump] administration exempted some gasoline manufacturers from using ethanol. Then we had Russia and Saudi Arabia flooding the market with cheap gasoline. All of that led to an oversupply of ethanol,” Gottwald said.

“As ethanol manufacturers were ramping down because there wasn’t a market for their product, along comes Covid-19, which meant people weren’t driving anywhere”, he added.

This led to plant closures, including among the 50 specialized plants that collect CO2 for the food and beverage market.

Gottwald’s association, along with a number of associations representing food and beverage industries, which together use 77% of food-grade CO2, issued a joint warning to the federal government about the shortage.

In an open letter to the vice-president, Mike Pence, the coalition warns: “Preliminary data show that production of CO2 has decreased by approximately 20%, and experts predict that CO2 production may be reduced by 50% by mid-April.”

It continues: “A shortage in CO2 would impact the US availability of fresh food, preserved food and beverages, including beer production.”

Tap water is supposedly safer than bottles in many cases but I can smell the chlorine or whatever in mine. Im sure boiling it would kill off all doubt though.

looks like C02 has to do with adjusting the water's pH

this sounds too scientific for my monkey brain

what if the water pumping around in the pipes is too acidic or basic bc we dont have enough C02?

then do the pipes corrode?

maybe we can buy more C02 from canada they probably still have some

The Georgia governor expects an increase in covid cases & hospitalizations with the loosening of restrictions but also feels that our medical system is better prepared for than we were last month. There are certainly doubts if this is true. He also said the federal guidelines on reopening is just that, guidelines and not mandates. He even brought out the tired "cure is worse than the disease" line.
Kemp and other red state governors are going to have to learn the hard way by seeing more of their constituents die. They are sacrificing people's health and lives for the economy but are too shortsighted to see if people are sick and dying the economy will not get better either. They're still not taking this seriously. I would not at all be surprised to see stricter restrictions come back in mid May. I hope the electorate remembers that come November.
That said our governor will not up for re-election until 2022.

It's interesting to see the differences... we have an (R) Governor in MD and he's been fantastic in this chaos... but it's a mostly blue state.
