I'm not arguing one side or the other here, just not clear on everything that happened. Didn't that cop that shot him have a taser in one hand but went for his gun with the other? Did he already use the taser, and if not, why not use that first?

Tasing a cop is not a capital crime.

The murder.charge is just a big show to keep people from burning down the city. This wasn't murder.

It's crazy how people expect cops to be perfectly rational, calm and collected in a violent situation, and not have a little bit of the animal come through.

Add to that the fact that half of them are roided up...

Tasers are two shot devices which means Brooks had another chance to immobilize him and steal his firearm. The Use-of-Force Continuum is pretty clear that the cop is free to shoot to kill at that point. "Lawful but awful" is Jackie Chiles style phrasing, but accurate describes what happened.
