Florence Foster Jenkins

«The story of Florence Foster Jenkins, a New York heiress who dreamed of becoming an opera singer, despite having a terrible singing voice.»

Not expecting too much, but good actors involved with this movie.

It’s a very straightforward story, but the acting is phenomenal. Hugh Grant really excellent here.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

"When Jacob discovers clues to a mystery that stretches across time, he finds Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. But the danger deepens after he gets to know the residents and learns about their special powers."

Always wanted to see this, since first hearing about it. And today I will.

Watching the movie now. Has a good start. Asa Butterfield was great in roles like this.

Mean Streets is on the menu tonight.

I was thinking about watching The Hustler, but unfortunately I'd have to rent it.

Rewatching The Jungle Book (2016) amd Fences today. Two solid movies.

Jungle Book captures the look really well, while Denzel is amazing in Fences.

Just two solid movies. Same year, similar rating. I’m trying to watch movies in a rising order (rewatches and first time movies as two separate lists, of course with first time views I must base that on external ratings).

However, I’ve watched Jungle Book early in the day, and will watch Fences before bedtime, so not even back to back.

Fences

I love Denzel in this. The script is of course outstanding, the cast excellent, directed by Denzel himself in a way that puts the words and the acting up front, and still it’s Denzel’s performance that lingers in my mind. One of the best I’ve ever seen.

This movie is even better than I remember. Speaks more to me than it did in 2017.

Tonight was movie night with my parents and we went with another Bob Hoskins movie - Mona Lisa.

Another very good movie. I was surprised to see Clarke Peters in the movie.

A Streetcat Named Bob

«The true feel-good story of how James Bowen, a busker and recovering drug addict, has his life transformed when he meets a stray ginger cat. Based on the international best selling book.»

Heartwarming true story. Really enjoy this movie.

Also rewatched The Edge Of Seventeen. Pretty good.
