I mistakenly clicked on a link earlier this week that spoiled the entire battle (leaked from an extra several months ago) but I was still thoroughly entertained. The Mereen stuff was really good too.

I just wish Jon Snow wasn't such a dummy. He truly does know nothing.

Yeah so many inventive little moments and amazing execution. Big fantasy battles are beyond boring at this point, but this was fantastic to watch. One of the few instances of employing shaky cam correctly, too.

Great example of an artist working under limitations and creating something great, as opposed to an artist working with none and producing garbage (the last Hobbit movie).

Just a fantastic sequence on a macro and micro level.

It also illustrates a character doing something stupid because he's... well... stupid, and not because the plot required a normally smart guy to be stupid in order to advance.

True, true. I do think Jon will learn from this and learn not to underestimate his enemy.

He's not stupid, he's Ned's "son". He thinks like Ned does and so Sansa used him like she saw her father used.

Ned was kinda stupid too

I liked the reference to Jon's sword skills. Apparently, the producers and stunt guys say Kit Harrington is a natural.

I'm really into Sansa this season. Love her character lately.

It doesn't hurt that she's frikkin' gorgeous.

Yeah, that was neat.

The mounted barrage of knuckle sandwiches to Ramsay was incredibly satisfying.

I did enjoy Jon going into bad ass mode. It looked like he accepted he was going to die when he tossed his scabbard to the ground as the cavalry closed in on him and was ready to give it everything he had.

if cersei survives next week's trial, and tommen and the high sparrow/faith militant do not, i don't see how lady olenna doesn't go on the offensive and seize king's landing. most if not all of the lannister army marched north with jaime, and with the FM gone, the tyrell army is the only substantial force left occupying the city.

actually, if cersei realizes this, it makes sense that she'd attempt to burn down the whole city, as she'll have to acknowledge that her time is truly up. if she can't have it, no one will.

the way the chaos of that battle swirled around Jon, especially in the opening moments, made him seem lucky and invincible at the same time. Honorable mention to Wun Wun v. everyone and Giantsbane v. Smalljon. I thought Tormund was done for. I think that was hands down the best battle scene of the series, unless I'm forgetting a big one.

Really were. Loved it.

And yeah Jon was being stupid as hell but that transformation from someone who just wanted to travel to a warm region and into someone who went full fuck it, I'll die for my family's name was great to see.
