Yeah, and I'm not trying to single you out or anything trag--not trying to be an asshole--but most of the people I've seen this sentiment from are people who wouldn't be directly affected by some of Trump's and the GOP's most controversial positions/policies (if they were implemented, which is still an "if," but if Trump wins the White House then it almost automatically means the GOP controls both houses of congress and the Supreme Court). To put it frankly, most of these people are middle-class, straight, educated, and white. When I listen to my friends, colleagues, students, and teachers who are POC, immigrants, gay, trans, low-income, or otherwise marginalized, they speak with a lot more urgency; for them, we're not talking about political theory or party politics, but really concrete parts of their lives that could be affected. I think it's really important to listen (especially as one of those middle-class, straight, educated white dudes who won't be much affected by whoever wins the presidency).

For all the hay that's been made about the stuff Trump has said about immigrants from Latin America and Muslims, how have people not latched onto the way he talks about Warren and used her familial history as a way to mock her?
