Akira won't work on the big screen.

Film you need to see at a certain time in your life. Leaves you wondering and curious to dig up its back story in comics and graphic novels.

That time is gone even for kids that age. Thanks internet. They'll make a shit of this like the ghost in the shell adaptation. But even worse.

Apparently James Cameron has written a story for the next Terminator which he'll be producing with Arnie and Linda Hamilton back. Rumour has it that it'll carry on from T2 - ignoring the other films

It also seems he is only doing this as a response to Wonder Woman. He keeps ranting about how empty the praise for it as a monument to feminism is. I kinda agree with him but let's not.

This could be awesome. Guess we're never ever seeing avatar 2-35

So like Halloween '3' then.

Also we're never going to see Avatar. James, just give it up.

Barely "cinematic news", but...

Screen Junkies 'Movie Fights' host Andy Signore 'suspended' over accusations of sexual assault.

Not surprised at all. Geek fandom is a cesspool of terrible creeper dudes.

Yeah. The Harry Knowles one was pretty bad, and someone in the comments linked to his Blade 2 review...

One lady came forward and wrote about her experience with Signore and it's pretty damning.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.
