yeah, whats the deal with the force ghosts? They have already appeared before. Yoda´s appearance in TLJ is one of the finest moments on the new franchise, Obi Wan´s appearance is good in the OT....

Whats the problem with more force ghosts?

I have never loved you more.

But the character and story deserves it. This isn’t about Luke. He’s only part of the story.
It’s all Anakin.
Anakin Is the touchstone they went to first in the sequels. Vader’s helmet.
Round it out. Make it about him.

And then make it R2 saving the galaxy.
I agree. If they are talking about one specific Skywalker, it should be Anakin.

Oh Lando and Palpatine are absolutely fan service. It just feels like if all of this fan service were to be in there, it would be J.J. admitting he is trying to correct what Johnson did. Not saying I liked what Johnson did, but he at least tried something. I'm sure by the end of this, Rey's parents will be corrected to be Skywalkers. And Snoke's background will be Palpatine, etc. Why else would Rey see an Anakin force ghost? And don't say because she's a Jedi. If that's the case, give us a Samuel Jackson force ghost, or Plo Koon, or every single Jedi that ever existed, cheering her on in a final battle. And just because Avengers did it, that doesn't mean it's good

The Yoda force ghost felt forced to me. Worst force ghost scene yet.

The Yoda scene in TLJ?

Its one of the most beautiful and important scenes in all SW.

JJ has to correct what RJ did, because there was so little to build on from TLJ.

But Rey will not be part of the Skywalker family.

Look over at endgame.
IX is never going to have such a uniformly and unanimously appreciated final chapter.
The only way out is fan service. And fan service is fine. Endgame was 99% fan service.
Tie the whole thing up.

Lando and Palpatine is ok.

But force ghosts are fan service?

I’m probably more tuned into his community than most here but the majority I know is on board and wants it.
I agree that Endgame was both universally loved and 99% fan service. Star Wars should do something similar, and with the same quality.

They should be careful about overdoing force ghosts though.

Little to build on? Did we see the same movie? How about rebuilding the resistance/rebellion, whatever. And Hux and Ren at odds while trying to maintain control over what is left of them and each other? building up to an obvious showdown between good and bad again. And Rey having the old Jedi texts, trying to spread the positivity of the force in little kids like that janitor on the casino planet.

Yes, we clearly saw a different movie. Rebuild the resistance? Far from it. Nobody cares about Hux. Not sure about the last part, but that sounds hokey. Disney-style.

I like most of the Marvel-movies, Rogue One, even TFA and Solo. There’s not much in those movies of the old school happy and hokey Disney movies of the 80s and 90s.

You’re literally on drugs.

Rian left JJ with a completely open field. something his skill set is built for.
I don’t even know how far he might go but it won’t be safe. In fact it’s going to shake us.

God, why? They’ve already ruined the one appearance it’s made by replacing Sebastian Shaw.

Sit with me a minute.

What more of a perfect way to tie all this together, than having Anakin (hayden) in the prequels, appearing as a force ghost in ROTJ and later coming to school his progeny in the final film?

It makes all the sense in the world.
God fuck no. If you want him to appear as he was before he was tarnished by the dark side and bring it back full circle with TPM, then he should be the little kid force ghost. You just have a massive boner for Christensen and won’t rest until he’s the only version of Anakin we have. Fuck it, just replace David Prowse and Sebastian Shaw with him and go ahead and edit that little tow head bastard that was in TPM.

It makes no fucking sense AT ALL for his force ghost to be played by him. And if you’re gonna switch him out, then why wasn’t Alec Guinness replaced?

NO MORE GODFUCKINGDAMN ANAKIN FORCE GHOST LUCASFILMDISNEY!!!!!!

David Prowse as a force ghost would be weird. Sebastian Shaw ok, but he was only in a scene under heavy make up. It makes perfect sense to use the one that played Anakin as a grown up in two movies. I actually think your hate of the prequels prevents you from seeing the logic in this,

now, from a purely comical sense, I would pay good money if they put an Anakin force ghost in using the little kid from the first prequel.
