It was alright, its not a good movie, but it has some good photography and Andrea Riseborough is great as always.

I haven't checked in here for a while, so here's the last couple of weeks of movies
Ides of March - kind of a dud. Great cast, but boring story.
Robbery (1967) - Good British crime flick
3:10 to Yuma - Fantastic
Hombre (with my parents) - Another fantastic Western. Very true to the book.
Hostiles - A third great Western and another fantastic Bale performance. A little harrowing.
American Hustle - really dazzled me with it's energy. I'm not usually a huge Bradley Cooper fan, but he was excellent.
The Fighter - Bale was excellent again. I love a good sports movie.
The Prestige - didn't blow me away. Some great performances, though.
American Psycho - Classic
Zulu (with parents) - some good performances. Beautiful location. Lackluster action.
Talk to Me - creepy movie. Sound was especially good.
Ford vs Ferrari - another great sports movie / Christian Bale performance. Ending is a bit of a downer, but it's a true story so what are you gonna do...

Justin Theroux is an actor whose name I recognize, but not his face. I just looked at his filmography and I don't think I've seen any of them (except American Psycho).

Yeah, I really enjoyed both of them. I want to check out more Paul Newman. I'm throwing The Hustler and Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid on my list.

American Psycho is a very good adaptation and Bale owns it so much. But the book is so fucking good. It basically revealed what was going to happen with culture in the future.

Yeah, the book is gory.

I nearly passed out reading the book in 2000. I was severely depressed at the time and the scene with the rat was too much for me.
I love the book. I loaned my copy to a coworker, and never got it back.
I need to find that guy.

I've never read anything that made me laugh so hard one chapter and then almost made me throw up the next. Ultimately, the book is overcooked and gratuitous (though that's also a large part of the point), and I think the film really hits the sweet spot. The ending of the book is also stupid and the film is much better there, too. Few films are better than the book for me but American Psycho is maybe the prime example.
