I think you can separate, but i would never fault someone for the inability to do so. We put a lot of our personal emotions and investment into these people that craft and sculpt our lives. If you should somehow be sickened by the artists behaviors and true ideals to the point of it impacting your enjoyment and belief in the art....

That's okay too. Everyone is different.

There's also a difference between "I can't like this because the person who made it is bad" and "I choose not to support this because (whatever)".
