I enjoyed this but I'm not gonna pretend I understood it. I didn't continue with the series either.

Would it be like going from To Kill A Mochingbird to Go Set A Watchman? A so-so sequel with a few flashes of what made the classic so good.

Honestly, I haven’t read the follow-up to To Kill A Mockingbird, and the last time I read that book was in middle school, which was so long ago.

I usually try to read about fifty pages of a book. If it hasn’t peaked my interest by then I move on. I will say I did push through the sequel to Handmaid’s Tale just because I wanted to see it through.

Really? I loved the whole series. Found them really compelling.

What compelled you to move beyond the first book?

Honestly, I didn't hate it, but it didn't pique my interest enough to move to the next installment.
