She was genuinely an American national treasure but more than that. She’s seen and done it all.
A gem. A real star. She made people all over the world happy for her whole career and her whole life. Can’t speak for everywhere else but I can safely say Ireland’s mourning her loss tonight.

RIP Betty.

My wife’s grandmother grew up with her. She used to see Betty all the time when she was a kid. I just mentioned her to my mother in law over the holidays and she mentioned how they still exchange Christmas cards.
